A Great Little BookThis is a terrific book. I've been playing and watching baseball for many years and bought the book because my wife knows nothing about the game. Basic Algebra
Published in Hardcover by Houghton Mifflin Co (May, 1992)
Average review score:

Clear, concise, easy-to-use algebra bookThis a a wonderful algebra book, and I only wish it would be reprinted in a more affordable copy with all of the extras---teacher's copy, supplementary worksheets, tests and answer guides. I use this book in teaching algebra to my special education students, and even my 8th graders are handling the lessons with skill, and developing solid comprehension in the use of algebra. When I tutor at a learning clinic that I own, students arrive, confused from the mishap instructions in the Chicago Math books and/or their clones. I pull out this wonderful book and reteach the lesson using a well-designed process. The child returns to class understanding the concept. Constantly the children complain, "Why can't we have decent books like this one to use at our school?" I totally agree. Why can't we?
If you are having trouble this is the book!I was having a lot of problems with algebra while going for my GED and bought every book on the subject, my teacher had me try this one and I love it and bought myself a copy. It is extremely easy to follow and takes you step by step. The instructions are very clear and helpful. This is truly a great book and worth every cent if you need help in the subject,

Basic Concepts in Pathology: A Student's Survival Guide

Average review score:

Excellent Book!Highly recommend it to all Medical Students. The book is actually 405 pages. There is a great deal of information presented in a unique fashion which made it more interesting to read. I learned pathology from a different perspective through Dr. Brown's book (Thank you!)and was able to supplement and strengthen any previous knowledge. There were numerous (through out the book) typographical errors which need to be corrected. No erroneous info however. An excellent book.

Clearly detailed and unforgettableDr. Thomas Brown's Battle Wounds Of Iwo Jima is a vividly written, highly recommended, eye-witness description of the ferocious and horrific World War II battles for the island of Iwo Jima against the occupying Japanese forces, and told from the viewpoint of the medics. A clearly detailed and unforgettable description of bloodshed and immense casualties, Battle Wounds Of Iwo Jima is a welcome contribution to the growing library of World War II battlefield accounts. The Bear & Mr Bear
Published in Hardcover by Dutton Books (January, 1995)
Average review score:

It's not just about a bear!I have used this book for five or six years as a storyreader in schools all over the east coast. It is a story of freedom and justice, love and compassion and has sparked some marvelous discussions in 4th,5th and 6th grades. A warm story of an angry man who befriends a misused bear and sets him free and in that act frees himself of his own anger and mistrust. I love this book!!
